Can you imagine 2 African drums, tube fiddle, African Harp, flute, large wooden African xylophone, 2 acoustic guitars, trumpet, shakers, 2 keyboards, 4 singers ..........and me...all in a tiny room measuring 12' x 12' !!! Considering there was no multitracking, no comping, no editing, it turned out amazingly well, recorded directly into one stereo microphone.

Karigirwa Sandra Listening to this "malaika" voice, you would never know that she was a victim of the Rwandan genocide. Sandra sings in French, Lugandan, Swahili and English. She also sings with Peace African Youth Ensemble and really is responsible for that album being produced. Everyone remarks upon the purity and clarity of this beautiful girl's voice.

I was invited by UCCF ( Ugandan Children's Charity Foundation) to record the songs of these wonderful, beautiful amazing orphans who toured the US from February thru May 2000. While most people spent this Y2K New Year's eve with a lot of apprehension about the effect the new millennium might have on our computer-driven world, I had the most wonderful time in Kampala, Uganda with these wondrous orphans who truly touched and impacted my life. I went there to record their amazing songs so that they would have a cd to raise funds for their orphanage while on the Tour of Light 2000 - a tour of the US taking in New York, Texas, California and Arizona. Washinton, Georgia. They also performed at the White House and on The Late Show with David Letterman. N

While on a romantic trip to visit una chicita bonita called Gabriela, I was rewarded in my endeavour to help a little girl who lost her legs. She was responsible for me going round PV and recording mariachi bands, children singing, Canto Nuevo, an amazing church service during the Festival of the Virgin de Guadalupe, a Peruvian/Bolivian traditional group and more.

Iron Virgin's "Rebels Rule" kicks off this Glam-Rock compilation album. This was the band which Gordon Nicol played in back in the 70's, His twin brother George pounds the drums on this "teenage anthem". This was the second single the band released, the first being "Jet" a cover version of Sir Paul McCartney's song. for more info visit click on the photo.
